First off I wanna thank *ButtBear for drawing this for me forever ago ;w; That being said, all I did was add the information!

Jonah has been a character I've loved for a long time, but he's been hard to develop. However, he's always been a happy little guy to me. He's the polar opposite of me saddest character, Song. Song = giving up on life. Jonah = loving and living to the fullest.

After =Klissie drew giftart of Jonah for me, I kind of.. realized that he might be something really positive for me if I started to give him more attention. I would always smile when drawing him and I think it's time that becomes a regular thing. It's funny how a character can make you happy, huh?

Now, Jonah has always been a "main" character for me. So I guess now you can expect to see him around more. He's the little bugger in my icon, even! He's just very positive and good and it rubs off on me when I draw him.

He's a sheltie. But that goes beyond them being my favorite breed! Shelties are notably happy and stuff, so I think that's part of it. I also just... love drawing them. Song is a sheltie too, but that was because I felt like the half-flop ears, long fur, and long face could help convey more emotion. It fits better.

More on the plum blossoms: I wrote down the Chinese symbolism, but they represent winter, luck, strength, and endurance(it blossoms at the end of winter) as well. The fragrance of plum blossoms "comes from the bitterness and coldness," as the Chinese saying goes. The plum has four virtues: the great potential in the bud, prosperity in the flower, harmony in the fruit, and rightness in its maturity - all of which embody the characteristics of heaven. Chinese also see the five-petaled flower as symbolizing five blessings: longevity, prosperity, health, virtue, and good living, as I wrote on the ref. The plum blossom is also a symbol of peace in Japanese culture.

Hes very, girlish with that spattering of plum blossoms, but he is very sweet and almost makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. I think that sometimes the character that you think is very different from you can show that really, no matter how hard you try your characters always seem to reflect some part of you. I hope drawing this character more often will not only bring joy and peace to you, but everyone else who sees it. Keep up the good work!
